The Grainary is really excited to share some big news with you all. This summer a brand new family attractions comes to Scarborough. It promises to be a big deal and already it’s making waves, (sorry) in the local area. We were kindly invited to a launch night at The Grand Hotel recently, where the team at Alpamare introduced what their new water park is all about, and also to announce an exclusive offer for all hospitality owners in the local area. Below is all you need to know….
Alpamare are proud to announce that now you can enjoy one of the most luxurious water parks right on the Yorkshire Coast!
Planning a trip to Scarborough this summer? Hurry up – soon you’ll have to plead for vacant rooms in nearby hotels and popular Farm Stay Guesthouses =). If you think it’s going to be just several cold outdoor swimming pools, think again. As it’s been specially designed by one of the most well-known water park manufacturers and water park planners in all of Europe.
They devised a whole family recreational centre covering all your needs. Its unique trick is the winning combination of the time-proved hydro-thermal British traditions with safety-proved European water parks. “Alpamare” means the “Alps” meets the “mare”, (the sea) and here you can see the steep slides going higher than the highest mountains clashing with the waves of the best wave pools offered in the area.
It’s a perfect place both for family gathering and for a pack of friends longing for new experience and fun! The place is diverse and anyone can find something to his taste.
Thrill-seekers will be fascinated by local water slides. Their top choices will definitely be:
The “Black Run” – steepest and fastest with 11 metres’ drop, the type of “dare if you can”;
The “Cresta Run” – named after the well-known Cresta run in St Moritz and imitating a black ski run (on a racing mat, head first);
Less extreme but not less challenging are:
The “Olympic Run” – family choice, the longest one (on a double inflatable);
The “Snow storm”– mix of twists and turns running into a pool (on a four people inflatable)
After a head-spinning slide you may refresh in one of two outdoor pools both heated for your comfort:
Outdoor family pool
Outdoor pool with massage jets and whirlpool-attractions facing the picturesque North Bay.
In the case of bad British weather, you can step into the welcoming waters of a 480sqm indoor wave pool.
The cherry on top is Spa area, (Coming Winter 2016) keeping up with best British traditions presented in wellness centre. It’s comprised of sauna, steam baths and it offers various treatments to utmost leisure and relaxation of the guests.
Such an action-packed day will definitely boost your hunger. You can easily satisfy it in an amazing restaurant with a terrace boasting to serve the delicious Alpine meals.
The opening times are scheduled to your convenience from 10 am till 10 pm from Monday through Saturday and from 10 am till 9 pm on Sunday. The entry fees are
The fees are as follows
Adult entrance fee £19
Child ticket £15
Under 5’s FREE
Family, (2 Adults and 2 Children) £60
We know that the launch prices for the new water park have caused a bit of controversy with the locals, all you need to do is check out their Facebook page
So far, we have not really aired our opinion on the matter. However, we would like to add that if you compare the cost of entering Alpamare’s Waterpark to a trip to the Sea Life Centre, (£18 for an adult ticket, or children over the age of 3) or Flamingo Land, ( £37 for one Adult and Child, or £116 for aa family of four) we do encourage that you put this into perspective before commenting on the cost of a brand new attraction that is being brought to the town.
From the chat that we had with the people in charge of Alpamare, we were impressed with their knowledge in the industry and are confident this is going to be a big success.
Dr Anton Hoefter, Alpamare Chief Executive Officer said:
“We’re delighted with our new map, which we will be using to create excitement locally and throughout the region ahead of our opening next month. To date, people have only been able to see pictures of a construction site or architects drawings, so we’re hoping that this map will allow people to truly see what a wonderful world class attraction we have created here on the Yorkshire coast.
“We are currently finalising our website in anticipation of a launch later this month, which will feature an interactive version of the map, alongside all the crucial information waterpark fans, will need to help them plan a visit to Alpamare Scarborough.”
The Alpamare company tried to envisage everything. Being a renowned provider of the safest, hygienic and environmentally-friendly services it guarantees such security level that all area except for water-slides is proved impeccable for disabled people as well.
All you have left is just to get dressed, grab your children and venture for a wonderful day-off in the Alpamare water park. And they will cater for everything else.
Alpamare anticipates that the first customers will be able to enter their water park for the end of July.
