The Grainary

Want a chance to do things at your own pace? The Grainary Farm Stay gives you just that, while experiencing the lively, unique culture of a working English farm, amidst the beautiful countryside of the North York Moors National Park

It’s been the home of the Simpson family (that’s us!) and the heart of Harwood Dale village for generations.

However long or short your stay, The Grainary is perfect for spending time with friends, family, pets or even by yourself. With two Labrador Collies and our working dogs Lollie, Blue, Bess and Gramps. You’ll always have someone happy to join you for a stroll by the pond.

If you can tear yourself away from the Farm and our stunning views of Scarborough Castle, the coast, and the moors, the famous seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough are a stone’s throw away. You can do as much or as little adventuring as you like! The Grainary is an ideal family location, where you get the chance to interact with our farm animals.

Don’t forget to visit our Farm Shop and Plant Centre before you say goodbye, and take a piece of The Grainary with you!

“Can’t wait to go back in the summer and explore the area more, I can’t recommend this place enough, the staff, the accommodation, and the food is exceptional. It’s also a perfect location as there are lots of places to visit nearby 😀”

“Booked 2 pet friendly rooms! Very relaxed home from home atmosphere with excellent food and the warmest of welcomes! Dogs were made very welcome as were we. Definitely going back in the New Year! Ideal for families with young children too. Close to coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough! Stayed November 2015, travelled with family”
